About Sallie Macy

Sallie Macy has been a resident of Blount County since graduating from Maryville College in 1970. As a gardener and animal lover she has used her watercolors and photography to show the joy both of these hobbies bring her. She creates original watercolor portraits using photographs of her clients' pets.

Her primary focus is pet portraits. A great animal lover, she has worked with various animal rescue groups in finding homes for displaced animals. Her love and concern for animals inspires her painting. She continues to support various rescue groups with donations of paintings and greeting cards for fund raisers.

Her work has been in The Maryville Fall Festival 2004, 2005, Miss Suzi’s Gifts of Distinction, Added Ingredients, Funkie Junkie, Market Square Booksellers and Viginia’s Framery in Knoxville, Honey Rock Herb Farm, Louisville, Mountain Sage Gallery, Townsend, Sister Cats, Townsend, O’Tooles Herb Farm, Madison, Florida, and a featured artist in May 2005 at The Flower Market in Knoxville for the flowers and art celebration.

She displays yearly at the Maryville College Crafts Fair. She is also a member of Fine Arts Blount. Prints and greeting cards are produced from the portraits and garden watercolors, and the photography greeting cards are samples of the delights found in her garden.
